 The tour will head north on US 191 passing the entrance of Arches National Park which was designated as a National Monument before being changed to a National Park in 1971. Our special use permit allows us to enter the back door to Arches via Willow Springs Road. Along this backcountry route, you'll travel through the new area of the "Utah Raptor State Park". Here where Native Americans lived back in history for thousands of years you'll see dinosaur tracks and enjoy the views of the La Sal Mountains. The Park lies atop an underground salt bed that is responsible for the arches, spires, and sandstone fins. Several of the stops include Eye of the Whale(Backcountry), Balanced Rock(Pavement), Sand Dune Arch(Pavement), Delicate Arche Viewpoint(Pavement), and the Windows Section(Pavement). The trip length is approximately 4 hours duration. All vehicles are Jeep Rubicons which are enclosed and air-conditioned.

Majestic 1000-foot high cliffs rise above the Colorado and Green Rivers, which border it on either side. Serpentine drainage systems are carved into the terrain below the cliffs. Upheaval Dome can be seen at its northern end; the Confluence of the the two rivers form the district’s southernmost point. Then on to the Needles District, the most fanciful and colorful portion of Canyonlands. Pink and white bands can be seen in its many spires and cliffs, and it is the home of some of the most remote and famous arches of canyon country. Difficult to reach by hiking and extremely beautiful, Angel Arch and Druid Arches are the best known. Elephant Arch, Kirk Arch, Wedding Ring Arch and Castle Arch, hidden away in the back country, are also included. Photographic opportunities abound!

We will visit at least two world class locations for photography in Utah's Canyonlands in the morning (sunrise), as well as several great spots in iconic Arches National Park in the afternoon (sunset). I have traveled extensively in search of amazing photographic locations, and it is hard to beat Arches, Dead Horse Point and the Islands in the Sky district of Canyonlands National Park.

I have traveled extensively in search of amazing photographic locations, and it is hard to beat Dead Horse Point and the Islands in the Sky district of Canyonlands National Park. I will show you great locations, and make suggestions on composition and subject matter. I can even help you with your camera settings if you are a beginner.

Desolation Canyon is perhaps our most popular family river vacation. A less-known national treasure, Desolation is one of the most scenic, historic and colorful waterway areas on the western rivers. Its brightly colored formations are monuments to the force of Mother Nature. This tour combines mountain biking and packrafting in order to explore a section of the Green River that can otherwise only be seen on multi-day rafting trips. We'll ride our bikes down an old mining road to a point along the Green River.
